A federal report says parts of the right wing of a medical transport plane that crashed Feb. 24 in Nevada fell far from the site of the wreckage.

FILE - In this image provided by The National Transportation Safety Board, NTSB investigators document the wreckage of a Pilatus PC-12 airplane, a medical air transport flight operated by Guardian Flight, Feb. 26, 2023, in Dayton, Nev. Parts of the right wing of the medical airplane that crashed last month in rural Nevada, killing all five people on board, fell apart mid-flight, according to a new federal report.

Guardian Flight said in a statement Wednesday it was reviewing the report and assessing ways to strengthen its safety protocols. Walton contacted air traffic control minutes before the crash to report that the plane was climbing past 15,400 feet , according to the report. But no further radio transmissions came in from the pilot, the report states.
