Columbus City Schools board member Brandon Simmons is set to deliver remarks on Monday morning regarding facilities within the district.
"We have too many school buildings, we are spending millions year after year after year on maintenance," Brandon Simmons said in front of Columbus Alternative High School. "What my colleagues won't tell you is that the board of education has the option to instead use those resources to finance the construction of new buildings."
"The work of the task force is dead," said Simmons. "They just won't admit it. It died in May. It did. The work is not continuing. There will be no vote. There will be no solution because boards have not done anything on this problem for the last eight years."
