Major rivers and tributaries around Hazelton, Kispiox and Terrace are on flood watch.
The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine has issued an evacuation alert for two small communities due to flooding.
With unseasonably hot weather in parts of the region, major rivers and tributaries around Hazelton, Kispiox and Terrace are on flood watch. Due to the potential danger that may arise from Flooding the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine has issued an Evacuation Alert for the area of Old Remo and New Remo which are about 10 km southwest of Terrace.
At this time residents are not required to evacuate, however, people residing or present within the area are requested to prepare to leave the area with very short notice. When an order is issued you must leave your home immediately and vacate the area by using the main route from your area.
