North Texas leaders have a humble request: Please pick up after your pups.
For example, the highly contagious parvovirus is transmitted by contact with infected dog waste and can sicken dogs of any age or breed. And when it rains, that waste can flow into streams, creeks and lakes, causing algae growth and introducing bacteria such as E. coli and fecal coliform into the waterways.
