Key losses
In 10 years, one team has been able to dethrone the Dodgers from the top of the NL West — the 2021 Giants. It was a different story in 2022, when San Francisco lost more games to its archrivals than any other season since the teams moved west. Shortstop-in-waiting Gavin Lux suffered a season-ending injury on the basepaths, and Tony Gonsolin won’t be ready for Opening Day, either, after spraining his ankle.
