The New Jersey Forest Fire Service says crews are on scene at Brendan T. On average, roughly 7,000 acres of New Jersey's forests are damaged each year.
"Right now we are experiencing some unusually dry weather here in late June and early July, so we have had more fires," said Judy. Investigators say last week's fire started with an illegal campfire. There is no word yet on what sparked Sunday's flames, but crews hope relief is on the way. "We're looking forward to some precipitation forecasted [Monday] afternoon, but we're not going to believe it's coming until it gets here," Judy added.
