Ex-Nissan chair Ghosn indicted for alleged breach of trustTOKYO (AP) — Nissan's ex-chairman Carlos Ghosn was charged Friday with breach of trust in the latest blow for the star executive, according to the Tokyo District Court. Ghosn was detained on Nov. 19. Earlier, he was charged with falsifying financial reports in underreporting his income by about 5 billion yen ($44 million) over five years through 2015. Ghosn; Greg Kelly, another Nissan executive; and Nissan as a legal entity were charged Friday with additional underreporting of income, from 2015 through fiscal 2017.

Japan's Nikkei: Ghosn says arrest due to plot within NissanTOKYO (AP) — The major Japanese business newspaper Nikkei says Nissan's former Chairman Carlos Ghosn blames his arrest for alleged falsifying of financial reports and breach of trust on a 'plot' by other executives at the Japanese automaker. Nikkei said it interviewed Ghosn on Wednesday for 20 minutes at the Tokyo Detention Center, where he has been held since Nov. 19. It was his first media interview since his arrest. The report cited Ghosn as saying that Nissan Motor Co. leaders had discussed a merger between Nissan and its French alliance partner Renault.

Tokyo court rejects Ex-Nissan chair Ghosn's bail requestTOKYO (AP) — A court in Tokyo on Tuesday rejected former Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn's latest request for bail, made more than two months after his arrest. The decision by the Tokyo District Court came a day after Ghosn promised to wear an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet, give up his passport and pay for security guards approved by prosecutors to gain release from a Tokyo detention center.
