It has been confirmed these events will be returning to Lancashire this year
Goodbye 2022, it's now time to look ahead to what's in store in 2023. From music festivals to whacky annual traditions, there's plenty of events suitable for everyone to get stuck into this year.
This tradition has been going on for more then 150 years. Hundreds of families head to Avenham & Miller Park in Preston, armed with their Easter eggs, ready to chuck them down a hill in a race. The Egg Rolling takes place on the hour, every hour throughout the day. The family-friendly live music event will be hosted by Brother Beyond’s Nathan Moore. Early bird discounts on standard entry ticket is £30.The live music extravaganza, which features an eclectic mix of music genres and artists, will feature over a single early-summer long weekend in 2023. Headliners include George Ezra, Jamiroquai, Lionel Richie, Sting, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard.
It returned following a two-year break in 2022 but on a smaller scale and the hope is that this year's instalment will have the festival restored to its former glory. The festival is free to attend, so Lancastrian foodies, get 12 August in your diaries.Thousands are set to line the streets in Accrington town centre to watch the homemade and non-motorised soapboxes compete for glory.
Get ready to witness some gravy-based madness and mayhem. The traditional Bank Holiday event, which is held at the Rose 'n' Bowl pub in Stacksheads, Rossendale, sees wrestlers grapple for two minutes in a huge gravy-filled bowl.
