on a radio show Tuesday she believes President Joe Biden should resign from office, at least in part because of his concerns around his age, and that “the party that gets rid of their 80-year old candidate is the party that will win.”On “The Hugh Hewitt Show” Tuesday, Hewitt said he has known “for a long time” that Biden is “not competent” and “infirm” before asking Haley whether he should resign, to which she said he should for the good of the country and the Democratic Party.

Haley, 52, the sole major Republican challenger left against likely nominee 77-year-old former President Donald Trump, said “the party that gets rid of their 80-year old candidate is the party that will win.” Biden’s age has been criticized widely in recent days after Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report was released last week andcharges weren’t brought against the president out of concern Biden would come across as an “elderly man with a poor memory” to a jury.

Trump—who, if elected, would be 82 at the end of his next term—also faces concern about his age, though less so than Biden as fewer than half of voters in a recent New York Timesthought Trump didn’t have “the mental sharpness to be an effective president,” while more than 60% felt that way about Biden.Biden—or Trump—aren’t rare for Haley, but this one came as her team is hoping for a big win against Trump in the South Carolina primary later this month.
