The new college will house up to 250 apprentices across a range of disciplines

The design of City Building’s new training college on Darnick Street in Springburn, which will house up to 250 apprenticeships, includes state-of-the-art features such as solar panels with the capacity to power the entire facility as well as eco-friendly air-source heat pumps.

Alongside modern skills within renewable and technology sectors, a range of traditional trades from stone masonry to brickwork will be taught at the college enabling a new generation to restore and maintain historic buildings across the country. “Growing our workforce is crucial, which is why we must continue our work to increase opportunities for young people by providing them with quality work-based training.

It is hoped that the new college will become one of the largest teaching centres for trades learning and development inThe building itself was constructed entirely by staff and apprentices from across City Building who met with the First Minister this morning to discuss how they have worked to help the country achieve its net zero targets.
