NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly isn’t ruling attempting future expansion in Atlanta, despite the first two forays ending in failure.

“I think some of the challenges that we’ve seen in the past in Atlanta can be overcome,” Daly said. “I think times have changed pretty dramatically and the market demographics have changed pretty dramatically since the first time we went there and then again in 1999.”The NHL originally planted roots in the Georgia in 1972 with the Flames. They played there until 1980, when the team moved to Calgary.
