NewJeans Becomes Fastest K-Pop Group To Achieve Million-Selling Album With “OMG”
According to Circle Chart, NewJeans’ first single album “” has sold 1,013,462 copies as of January 27. This marks NewJeans’ first million-selling album that comes just three and a half weeks after the release of “OMG” on January 2, and six months after their official debut in August 2022 with their. NewJeans is now only the seventh K-pop girl group in history to have a million-selling album, as well as the youngest and fastest group to do so.
Of these million albums, around 720,000 are physical albums sold while nearly 290,000 come from Weverse album sales. From the shipments of these CDs, physical albums, and platform records such as Weverse albums, Circle Chart excludes returns when calculating total sales.
