It wasn’t a great month for bettors as sportsbooks increased their hold from 8.2% in March to 9.4% in April. The Empire State hauled in $93.7 million in tax revenue, marking the third time profits exceeded $90 million in the last five months.The April handle was New York's fourth-best figure since online wagering began in Jan. 2022, and is the most amount wagered this calendar year, passing the $1.95 billion generated in January.
DraftKings eclipsed $700 million in the amount wagered for the first time since December and scored its highest profits since January. The $63.2 million of revenue was up 40.7% year-over-year.
