New York City’s economy may have all but vanished in the age of coronavirus, but there remains at least one bright spot in the job market: mortuary work

NEW YORK — .

“Available positions for medicolegal investigators and mortuary staff were recently posted by our agency, and we’re assessing applicants at this time,” said Aja Worthy-Davis, a spokesperson for the office. Worthy-Davis declined to say how many mortuary technicians and medicolegal investigators the office employs in normal times. Overall, the medical examiner has 600 workers and investigates about 8,500 deaths a year.
