The teaser trailer for 'The Six Triple Eight' offers a glimpse into the inspiring true story of the first and only all-black, all-female World War II Battalion. The film follows their mission to sort through a massive backlog of undelivered mail, facing discrimination and hardship while delivering hope to soldiers and their families.
The new teaser trailer shows off more of the upcoming film, which follows the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas in WWII . The trailer shows off not only the hardships the group will have to face as soldiers in World War II but also what they’ll have to overcome to provide hope for those in battle.
Washington will be joined by an all-star ensemble cast that includes Oprah Winfrey, Susan Sarandon, Sam Waterston, Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, Jay Reeves, Jeffery Johnson, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Donna Biscoe, Gregg Sulkin, Scott Daniel Johnson, and Dean Norris.
“The film tells the inspiring true story of the incredible and brave women of the only all-black, all-female World War II Battalion,” reads the synopsis. “These 855 women joined the war effort with little knowledge of what exactly they would be doing, but were quickly given the mission of a lifetime: sort through and fix the three-year backlog of undelivered mail. A herculean task, that most thought to be impossible, the women not only succeeded but did it in half the time they were given.
