The latest “Asahi Kasei Automotive Consumer Survey” shows that 34 percent of non-EV owners in China prioritize safety as the key factor influencing their decision to purchase an electric car. In response, automakers worldwide are investing heavily in improving EV battery safety. Currently, most thermal protection solutions rely on mineral-based materials, such as mica or ceramics, which are effective but come with significant drawbacks.
Tests show that Lastan has an LOI of 50 or higher, far exceeding the typical flame retardance standard of 27. This means it’s much more resistant to catching fire than most materials.
