Get ready, as London's Bank has got a new entrance 🚂 So hopefully no more squeezing through the barriers in the morning 🤞
Bank station’s new entrance at Cannon Street has finally opened – marking theThe latest entrance is now the 17th, which can be used by passengers between interlinking Bank and Monument stations.
It’s particularly good news for those wanting to travel on the Northern Line as Tube-goers now have step-free access to it. The overhaul has also provided improved access to the Docklands Light Railway platforms, which you can now get to in just 40 seconds via lift. The entrance will give Bank station 40% more capacity through the ticket hall, two new lifts and six new escalators.
Andy Lord, London’s transport commissioner, said it marked ‘a hugely important moment for the Square Mile, which is now served by a modern, accessible station with vastly improved capacity.’, gave his stamp or approval to the project which he said has ‘transformed Bank into a world class station’.
