JON JOHNSON The “new” Dothan Country Club golf course layout is receiving rave reviews from the competitors in the 75th Annual Press Thornton Future Masters.
The course was totally revamped during a 13-month project and re-opened to DCC members in November after the first time in more than 20 years the course had been updated. “In every single golf tournament, you’ve got to make putts somehow. If you can find a way to hit greens and then make those putts, you should be pretty good.”“I think hitting the fairway got harder because of all the bunkers they added,” Katz said. “But mostly the changes in the actual course like the greens … and the changes on 11 and 18 … I think it’s easier with those changes specifically. But the bunkers they added definitely became a lot more challenging to hit the fairway.
