New Braunfels’ new $370.9 million budget includes 7.5 percent pay raises meant to help retain and attract employees after two years of high turnover.NEW BRAUNFELS — New Braunfels employees will get a 7.5 percent boost in their base pay starting next month as the city strives to retain and recruit workers. Those in the police and fire departments will get an 8 percent raise.
In fiscal 2021, turnover was at 12.9 percent, compared with 9.2 percent the previous year. From October to May of this year, the rate was 12.1 percent.
