Hoping for a new MacBook Air in the near future? Prepare for disappointment.

The latest details from Apple analysts are a late 2022 release for the Apple Silicon M2 chipset, and its debut in a new MacBook Air;"“It was due to launch either at the end of last year or early this year, but now it should be coming around the second half of the year” Gurman says Apple’s new MacBook Air will be powered by the upcoming M2 chip and be completely redesigned with new colors and MagSafe...
Apple’s stated goal to move the entire Mac platform over the the ARM-based Apple Silicon chipsets is nearing the end, with the iMac Pro and Mac Pro the remaining new hardware lines not yet switched over . And with the M1 family completed, the obvious next step is to move on to the M2 range. Given the M1 launched in late 2020 in the MacBook Air , starting the M2 portfolio two years later, with the same mix of machines, must surely appeal to the regularity that Apple has shown with the iPhone release schedule?
