Netflix is reportedly testing the feasibility of live-streaming some shows in the future -- like reality series and comedy specials.

There’s no indication yet when Netflix might go full-bore into streaming live Netflix shows. The fact that it’s even considering such a thing, though? This comes at a time when the company is reconsidering almost every facet of its operation. Resistance to ads? That’s gone. Rigid fidelity to the all-at-once binge model? That’s history, too, with some shows now following a weekly release schedule.
For the quarterly reporting period that ends in June, Netflix forecasts that it will lose something on the order of 2 million subscribers. That follows the subscriber loss it reported during the prior quarter — its first in more than a decade.in recent days, promising to redouble its efforts toward spending subscribers’ money wisely on new Netflix shows and the like. “Not everyone will like — or agree with — everything on our service,” the updated document notes.
