Netanyahu called the militant group’s demands “delusional.”
TEL AVIV — Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he conveyed “profound concerns” to Israeli officials about recent actions government officials have taken during the war with Hamas, including irresponsible rhetoric that “inflame tensions,” bombardments that create high levels of civilian casualties and barriers to aid flowing into large parts of Gaza.
Blinken said that in his discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he discussed “key steps” the country must take to ensure that aid reaches more people in Gaza, including opening new border crossings that could provide aid to Palestinians in northern Gaza, expediting aid imports from neighboring Jordan, and strengthening military deconfliction with humanitarian providers in a conflict that has killed more U.N. aid workers than any other in history.
