“The officers for whom allegations have been found to be substantiated now have the opportunity to prepare submissions regarding facts they believe mitigate the proposed discipline,” Fisher said. There are only 20 police officers working for the NPD in the West Kootenay city of 12,000, so the investigation has had a big impact on the force.
