The furor over the conversion of the former St. John Villa Academy continued to grow while the second day of Hizzoner’s sojourn to Central America saw Adams make a series of appearances in Ecuador aimed at discouraging migrants from making the trip north. “We have a mayor who at one point was welcoming migrants in, who now says the migrant influx is going to destroy New York.”Staten Island residents who live near one of the city’s newest and most controversial shelters for recent migrant arrivals claimed that City Hall has doubled down on the site.“The judge told them they had to leave immediately and everyone thought we won the case and everyone was out,” Herkert added.
