It's Back to School for many districts today! It'll be another hot one, but not quite as hot as what we experienced over the weekend. Generally, upper 90s for most.
A break in the heat comes in the form of a weak summertime cold front on Monday. Still, areas to the south of Dallas/Fort Worth are under Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings.
This break will be brief as dangerous heat returns to North Texas from Thursday afternoon into next weekend. This spell of hot temperatures will once again reach near record highs.: Mostly clear. Low: 76. Wind: NE 5-10 mph.Sunny and hot. Low: 72. High: 98. Wind: E 5-10 mph.Sunny and very hot. Low: 82. High: 106. Wind: S 10-15 mph.Mostly sunny and very hot. Low: 82. High: 104. Wind: S 10-15 mph.Partly sunny and hot. Low: 81. High: 102. Wind: SE 10-15 mph.
Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles. According to the National Safety Council, if it's 95 degrees outside the internal temperature of a car could climb to 129 degrees in 30 minutes. After just 10 minutes, temperatures inside could reach 114 degrees.
