Navy flew in style to its bowl game this year.
The Pats lent their team plane to the Midshipmen as the team took the two-hour flight from Annapolis, Maryland to Memphis, Tennessee for their Liberty Bowl matchup against Kansas State on New Year's Eve.
Navy sought an upgraded experience for its bowl game after chartering flights all season, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft obliged. The Pats and Navy are connected through New England coach Bill Belichick, whose father Steve served as an assistant coach and scout at Navy during Bill's childhood. "Just very grateful to Robert Kraft, the Patriots, Mr. Belichick — it was awesome,” Niumatalolo told the Post. “There were people coming with the candy tray, the chocolate chip cookie was nice and warm. It’s obviously designed for a football team, so the spacing was awesome. I was kind of sad when they said it was only a two-hour flight, you know usually you want a quick flight but this time, I was a little sad.
