The sailor, whose name is being kept under wraps until his family is notified, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam on April 9, 2020. He was one of 550 sailors from the ship to test positive for COVID-19 as the outbreak engulfed the ship, and its commander, Captain Brett Crozier, pleaded for assistance from the Navy in a letter that was leaked to the
