The ship that Trump called a “70,000-ton message of hope” has been sitting mostly empty

visited the Norfolk Navy Station for the departure ceremony of USNS Comfort, the hospital ship bound for New York in an effort to relieve pressure from city hospitals overrun by patients with the coronavirus. In his remarks, Trumpthe Comfort would arrive at Manhattan’s Pier 90 on Monday with a mission to care for those without the virus but requiring urgent care. Its 1,200-member crew, he said, would begin treating patients on Tuesday.
