We’re seeing the impacts of changing structures, and municipalities is where people live. And that’s where we’re really trying to answer and redress those concerns of Canadians. And we can’t do that if we don’t have a good conversation with our federal counterparts. That said, infrastructure owned by municipalities represents 60 per cent of the infrastructure that exists — some of those are really key pieces. And some of those investments in infrastructure are going to be incredibly important as we move forward. So some of the conversations that we have with members across the country, around transit and ensuring that the investment in infrastructure is appropriate, is making sure that we have that long-term assurance.
Q: Why do you think it’s important to have direct communications between municipalities and the federal government, rather than having the provinces relay those priorities?
