Do you love making art and using your imagination? So do we! Every NASA mission starts with a creative idea about how to explore something in a new way.In this new activity, we’d like to challenge young explorers to think about and draw a space-related situation each month.

On March 1, 2022, the United States will be launching its latest weather satellite, called GOES-T. GOES-T is part of a group of NOAA satellites that keep an eye on Earth’s weather from space. Why do we need these weather satellites? The information they collect is used in many ways! In fact, if you’ve ever checked a weather forecast on a phone, computer or television, you’ve used information collected by one of GOES-T’s satellite sisters. For this month’s art challenge…

Draw NOAA's GOES-T satellite observing the typical weather during this time of year where you live! Is it snowy and cold? Is it sunny and warm? Are there storms or lightning?to learn more about weather satellites like GOES-T! Submit your drawings between 1/4/22 and 1/31/22. Selected art submissions will appear on the website during the first week of February!Once you’ve gotten your ideas on the page, have a grownup take a photo or scan of the drawing and email the following to
