The bride, granddaughter of President Joe Biden and Dr Jill Biden, walked down the aisle wearing a Grace Kelly-inspired dress by Ralph Lauren.
At 11:00 am on Saturday on the South Lawn of the White House, Naomi Biden, the eldest granddaughter of President Biden, married Peter Neal in front of approximately 250 guests. “It has been a joy to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is, and carve out such an incredible life for herself,” said the President and First Lady. “Now, we are filled with pride to see her choose Peter as her husband and we’re honoured to welcome him to our family.
To set the tone for such a historic wedding weekend , the invitations, which were complete with the presidential seal, read: “The President and Dr Biden request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their granddaughter…” According to reports, the bride has played an important role in her grandfather’s political career. In 2019, she called a family meeting where she, her two sisters, and her cousins urged him to run for president against Donald Trump.
The newlyweds were first set up by a mutual friend in 2018. Naomi was in law school at Columbia University at the time, and New York City served as the setting for the first date and the courtship that followed.
