ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A clash between the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and protesting crab harvesters has prompted the provincial government to delay budget day until further notice."

"The Provincial Budget is significant to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians and includes spending on such key matters as health care, education, seniors, and improvements to infrastructure, as well as industry and businesses," the province stated, noting that government operations continue as normal throughout the province.

"After twelve months of so-called dialogue with harvesters, the Furey Liberals have turned their backs on harvesters, plant workers, and rural Newfoundland and Labrador," said Wakeham.
