The suspect is a 55-year-old science teacher in the Edison school district in Middlesex County.
A middle school teacher was arrested Wednesday after investigators found child pornography during a search of his home, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.
Julius Coaccioli, 55, of Woodbridge, has been charged with third-degree possession of child pornography, officials said. Detectives with the prosecutor’s office executed a search warrant at his residence after receiving a cyber tip from the New Jersey State Police. Prosecutors said Coaccioli teaches at a middle school in Edison, but did not specify which school. A spokesperson for the school district could not immediately be reached.listed Coaccioli as a science teacher at the Woodrow Wilson Middle School, earning a salary of $106,369 during the 2022-2023 academic year.
Authorities are asking anyone with tips about the case to call Detective Ken McGarry of the office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit at 732-745-3140.
