N.J. man, 26, charged with fleeing scene of deadly crash, police say

A passenger died after the vehicle collided with a utility pole in Lakewood, authorities said.

Angel Garcia-Rodriguez, of Lakewood, was allegedly driving a 2007 Honda Civic west on James Street at around 2:25 a.m. Saturday when the Honda collided with a utility pole and he then left the scene, leaving behind a critically injured male passenger, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said.
