During this time of year, high school football players release their midseason highlight tapes and some are eye-catching enough that it can open up doors for them. Meet Myles Hansford.

Bordentown's Myles Hansford knocks the ball away from New Egypt's Jacob Kramer as Bordentown Football defeats New Egypt 30-0 on their annual Thanksgiving Game on 11/25/2021During this time of year, high school football players release their midseason highlight tapes and some are eye-catching enough that it can open up doors for them.

A two-sport standout who also makes plays on the hardwood, senior Myles Hansford has some of the best safety film in the state despite not being offered by Division-1 schools. He boasts a high-grade point average, can run and jump, has a nose for the football and FBS length. Hansford, who dons No. 1 on the gridiron, and makes eye-popping plays, will visit Rutgers this weekend when the Scarlet Knights host Wagner at SHI Stadium, and as Hansford asserts himself among Power Five teams. Hansford says he camped at Rutgers in ‘22, ran a 4.6-second laser-timed 40-yard dash, and wasn’t offered, but will reconnect with the staff this weekend.

Bordentown's Myles Hansford drives to the basket as Bordentown Boys Basketball defeats Willingboro 55-46 on 1/5/2022The Bordentown staff moved Hansford from wide receiver to quarterback heading into the 2023 season, which allows the Scotties to keep the ball in its best player’s hands. But Hansford, who has 33 tackles and five interceptions in five games, will play DB in college where his instincts and athleticism should help him excel.

The WJFL Freedom First-Team member accumulated 51 tackles, four interceptions, 373 receiving yards, and six total touchdowns in 2022, and is on pace to surpass that production as a senior. Small schools like Saint Anselm and Kutztown have offered, but Hansford has the tools to compete at a higher collegiate level, which he proves each time he suits up.
