Even before that she heading to City Hall on Tuesday afternoon for a briefing from the city manager and to start meeting with councillors — several of whom endorsed her competitor Ana Bailão who came a close second on election night.. She also told homeowners higher interest rates on large mortgages, that they should not be worried.
She said she had a “wonderful” conversation with Premier Doug Ford after her win Monday night — though he“He loves the city as much as I do,” she said, and they share common ground on wanting Toronto residents and businesses to thrive. Chow said she also had positive conversations with her fellow candidates including Bailão and former police chief Mark Saunders. “There is a lot we have in common. We both want a safer city,” she said of Saunders.
