Stanford dropped its second game of the Pac-12 schedule Sunday.
Of Stanford’s three losses this season, two were to middle-of-the-pack Pac-12 teams in USC and Washington — losses that look comparably bad to their competition for a No. 1 seed.
South Carolina and LSU both remain undefeated ahead of their showdown on Sunday. Indiana has lost only once and continues to reign over the Big Ten. And even in the loss to the Gamecocks on Sunday, UConn showed well amid all of its injuries, looking fearsome. For most of the season, Stanford has been a foregone conclusion to be a No. 1 seed, come March. But after Sunday, the Cardinal might have fallen off the top seed line.
