Some streets of the Simon Fraser University campus will be blocked off to traffic for the return of SFU StreetFest! a two day family-friendly event that brings people from across Metro Vancouver together and celebrate the onset of fall with live music, performers, food vendors and more.
On Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16, the roads: Cornerstone Mews and Science Road will be closed to let the community gather car-free and revel in all sorts of entertainment and photo ops.According to a news release, more than 60 vendors — including BC Lions, Whitecaps FC, the Gaming Stadium, Bak’d Cookies and other local artisans — are slated be at the event.
The event, featuring some local talent — including The Burnouts, Tamami Maitland — is organized with support from Fraser International College, the City of Burnaby and Tourism Burnaby. Popular greater Vancouver food trucks like Tokyo Katsu, Shameless Buns, Street Dogs and Little Ooties Mini Donuts will be on-site to provide guests with the tastiest food options.
