We had the most amazing time and were made to feel welcome by all staff and players. “We met up with Simon and had a tour, we talked about our history, the trophies, Jack Walker, and players past and present. We visited the media suite, and we were very privileged to peep around the door of the Annie Walker Suite which has been left untouched since Jack Walker last used it.“We met all the players and Jon Dahl Tomasson who were all so welcoming and made Sam feel like a VIP.
“Simon had arranged for Sam to be a flag bearer and he also arranged for him to have a half-time birthday message scroll across the scoreboard.“I honestly think that what Rovers did for Sam shows that it has its fans' wellbeing at heart. Sam has learning difficulties and Simon was fantastic with him, taking the time to explain everything so that Sam understood.
“The visit came at the perfect time just after Sam's birthday and it has helped him to celebrate in style and enjoy his birthday.”
