Road closures have been extended in response to 'heavy smoke' in the area
Several hours later emergency services remain at the scene and are working to make the area safe.
Due to heavy smoke, drivers have been advised that the Clyde Gateway is now closed between the Gallowgate and Dalmarnock Road junctions.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:"We were alerted at 2.35am on Wednesday, February 8 to reports of a bin fire at Nuneaton Street, Glasgow. “Operations Control immediately mobilised one appliance to the scene and on arrival firefighters found a commercial building well alight.
“A further five appliances and specialist resources were mobilised. Crews remain on the scene as they work to make the area safe.
