Russia is reacting with an 'I told you so' in state media after the conclusion of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Moscow's involvement in the US presidential election that didn't find evidence of collusion.

FILE - In this Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019 file photo, people walk in Red Square on a cold day, with St. Basil's Cathedral in the background, in Moscow, Russia. A senior Russian lawmaker on Monday March 25, 2019, has welcomed the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian involvement in the U.S. presidential election, saying this gives the countries a chance to mend ties.

Russian officials and state media who have vehemently denied that the Kremlin wanted Trump to win and was helping him in the campaign on Monday relished the news. Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the foreign affairs committee at the Federation Council, on Monday described the probe and the discussions around it as “two years of incessant lies.”
