The husband of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) filed for divorce Tuesday, claiming the marriage was “irretrievably broken,” according to court documents.
The couple was already separated, Perry Greene, the Georgia representative's husband, said in the filing, and he requested that their assets and debts be divided equally. He is also asking the Fulton County, Georgia, Superior Court to seal the divorce proceedings, claiming that sensitive personal and financial information would likely be revealed in the proceedings.“Marriage is a wonderful thing and I’m a firm believer in it.
The marriage is ending after 27 years; the couple wed while in college in 1995. They have three adult children. Perry Greene said the couple are best friends but are now headed in different directions. “Our family is our most important thing we have done. As we go on different paths, we will continue to focus on our three incredible kids, their future endeavors, and our friendship,” he told the outlet.Marjorie Taylor Greene acknowledged receipt of the divorce petition on Wednesday, according to court filings.
