Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, the last Canadian premier to face election, broke away from the herd at the Tuesday meeting of the Council of the Federation, to express her dismay at the role of the federal government. “The federal government continues to intervene in our areas of jurisdiction, continues to dictate how we operate our programs and policies and yet they fail in their areas of jurisdiction,” Smith said.
