MP files motion for House of Commons to celebrate 50th anniversary of Dolly Parton’s I Will Always Love You.

These types of motions are very rarely debated, however Shannon’s views have been made clear.

Shannon’s motion goes on to ask that Parliament ‘highlights the contribution this song and her music in general to the industry’ over the years’ and that it notes ‘the large scale event held at the weekend in Dolly Parton’s multi-million dollar theme park.’ Unsurprisingly, Shannon’s call to celebrate Dolly has garnered cross-party support, with 28 MPs having signed it so far. These include Labour’s Olivia Blake, Nadia Whittome, Cat Smith, Grahame Morris, Charlotte Nichols, Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Ian Byrne, Emma Lewell-Buck, Mary Kelly Foy, Kate Osborne, Rosie Duffield and Mick Whitley.
