Man dies after being hit by truck while putting gas into car on West Houston freeway shoulder
A man who was putting gas into his car on the shoulder of the Katy Freeway died early Saturday after being struck by a passing vehicle, police said.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police said the man pulled over to the right shoulder after running out of gasoline on the freeway. He then called an Uber to take him to get gas. After filling a jug with gasoline, he was driven back to his car so he could refuel.
