A mother is looking for answers after she says the remains of her missing son laid in the Monroe County Examiner's Office unidentified for nine months.
Sean Marrero's mother, Maureen Harrison, is looking for answers after she says his body was in the morgue, unidentified for nine months.
Marrero disappeared more than a year ago on Jan. 20, 2023 when he was last seen leaving a friend's house on Moulson Street in Rochester."He left all his personal belongings," Harrison said. "He said to his friend that he hoped that he didn’t die and he left. He left his cell phone with text messages that indicated that he was afraid for his life."
The county is unable to comment on the details of this specific case, but director of communications Gary Walker says this shouldn't have happened. "We don’t want any other family to have to live this nightmare, this torture," she said. "People didn’t do their jobs. They didn’t check Sean’s DNA."
