The first Mortal Kombat 2 photo has been released, as production continues on New Line Cinema's upcoming fantasy action sequel.
Mortal Kombat 2 is being directed by Simon McQuoid from a screenplay written by Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater. Further details about the next installment’s plot are still being kept under wraps. It is produced by James Wan, Michael Clear, Todd Garner, and E. Bennet Walsh.
The sequel will feature the return of Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han and Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion, and Max Huang as Kung Lao.
The action sequel will also introduce a number of new characters in the form The Boys star Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Martyn Ford as emperor Shao Kahn, Mindhunter’s Damon Herriman as Netherrealm demon Quan Chi, Desmond Chiam as Edenian King Jerrod and Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel.Maggie Dela Paz has been writing about the movie and TV industry for more than four years now.
