🚅 The 123 cancelled and disrupted services have caused major overcrowding and comes on the same day as Rishi Sunak trumpeting his levelling up policy

The Prime Minister is touring the North of the country on Thursday to raise awareness of his levelling up programme, which saw more than 100 projects receive a share of £2.1bn in government funding.

Labour has criticised the distribution of round two of the levelling up fund, which it claimed led to more cash going to London and the South East than the North. While Mr Sunak and several of his Cabinet ministers were visiting all areas of the UK as part of efforts to push the levelling up announcement, Labour’s Dame Diana Johnson highlighted in the Commons that “war torn Ukraine was able to cancel fewer trains and run a more reliable service than TransPennine Express”.
