Another 41 migrants arrived at local homeless shelters overnight, Denver officials said on Saturday, and 152 migrants are being aided at the city’s emergency shelter.
Thirteen migrants have left the city-managed emergency shelter of their own accord, the city said in a news release, 48 migrants have located to a church-run shelter and 73 migrants are preparing to unite with family or friends.from the U.S.’s southern border arrived in downtown Denver by bus, prompting city emergency management officials to quickly open an emergency shelter to temporarily house the unexpected influx.
Saturday’s update included information on “physical donations” that can be dropped off at Iglesia Ciudad de Dios, 5255 W. Warren Ave., Denver, between 4 and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. New clothing, for men, women, children, and infants, is much needed, especially winter wear, officials said. Underwear, socks, shoes and coats are on the list on items.
