Many downtown routes, including one-way Richmond and Adelaide Sts., see rush-hour gridlock as vehicles attempt to squeeze into open lanes..There’s also major construction, either private or public, on many other streets that is expected to continue in some cases for years. “The city takes an active approach to coordinating construction to reduce prolonged disruption to residents and road users,” the city statement says. “Where possible, staff consider the construction needs of a particular area and liaise with outside agencies to coordinate and plan the work together, in stages or at the same time.”
